The Waterbenders learned how to bend watching the push and pull of the tides. The Earthbenders were taught to shape the earth by the badgermoles. The Airbenders were inspired to soar by the Flying Bison. And the Firebenders learned their bending from the masters, Dragons. Even now, the cycle continues.
